Shree Manguesh Temple
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, build in
16th Century, 20 Kms from Panaji at Priol Ponda
taluka. Mangeshi is this distinct structure dedicated
to Lord Shiva & located on a hillock surrounded
by lush green hills. Its lofty white tower at
the entrance is a landmark in the countryside.
Shree Mahalsa Narayani
Temple
21 Kms. from Panaji at Mardol in
Ponda taluka. The temple is famous for its ' Deep
Stama' it is 1 km down the road from the Mangueshi
temple.
Narcinya Temple
24 Kms. from Panaji at Veling in
Ponda taluka, the temple is dedicated to Lord
Vishnus Narcinva Avtar.
Shree Shantadurga
Is on of the richest temple dedicated
to Shantadurga, the Goddess of peace, 33 Kms from
Panjim at Kavlem, the goddess who mediates between
Vishnu and Shiva and has a rich and beautiful
Garbhakuda where the holy deity is kept.
Shree Gopal Ganapati
24 Kms. from Panaji at Farmagudi,
Ponda, the temple built by late Shri Dayanand
Bandodkar, the first Chief Minister of Goa in
1966 is situated on the slopes of the hillock
known as Farmagudi amidst beautiful natural surroundings
near Bandora.
Shree Nagesh
The temple dedicated to God Shiva
is situated in the village of Bandora about 4
kms to the east of Ponda. The temple Sabhamandap
has a gallery on both sides that contains exquisite
specimens of intricate wood carvings of the events
of Ramayans on one side and the wooden images
of Astadikapal and Gandharva on the other.
